First test of the Mitsubishi L200 2019

The pick-ups are possibly the great strangers of Spanish drivers. If we did a survey, most of them would associate this type of vehicle with a work activity, but the truth surpasses fiction, and in Mitsubishi they are very clear. After forty years manufacturing pick-ups, the Japanese manufacturer faces the sixth generation of the L200, a vehicle that is more than just a tough guy.

Completely redesigned, the L200 incorporates new materials, providing a design that offers much more robustness, greater dynamism and, of course, much greater stability. A vehicle that perfectly combines functionality with sportsmanship. It is noted that it is the second best-selling Mitsubishi model, since they have taken great care to make a vehicle that adapts to any type of need.
The Mitsubishi L200 has a great off-road capability

Outwardly it is very different from its predecessor. Its hood has risen 40 millimeters and incorporates new LED lights, both in the front and rear headlights. Front headlights that are also higher, so that there is greater protection and better wading capacity. The lengths vary depending on the finish, but range from 5214 millimeters to 5305 millimeters. It offers a great off-road capacity with an angle of attack of 30º and an angle of departure of 22º.

It incorporates a new 220di-D diesel engine that offers a power of 150 hp, with a manual or automatic gearbox, both six-speed. A propeller that complies with Euro 6d-Temp and WLTP regulations, also using Adblue to purify gases.

The Mitsubishi L200 responds perfectly when we ride on conventional roads, but where it offers its best ways is when we get out of them and test its new off-road driving mode. It incorporates the Super Select 4WD-II system, which allows the driver to choose the most appropriate configuration, depending on the terrain and driving conditions. It has a central differential lock that offers great off-road performance, while controlling the torque distribution between the front and rear. It incorporates the new slope descent control, which allows us extra help for excessively steep slopes, all complemented by a large number of assistants, which make our driving much safer.

As far as prices are concerned, the professional range starts at 29,250 euros, while the high range starts at 36,100 euros.
